VAT

Value Added Tax (VAT) is an important part of the UAE tax system and affects businesses across a wide range of industries. We help businesses understand their VAT obligations, maintain compliant records, and meet filing requirements accurately and on time.

VAT in the UAE

Introduced on 1 January 2018, VAT applies to most goods and services supplied within the UAE at a standard rate of 5%. The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) administers and regulates VAT compliance across all emirates.

While many supplies are subject to the standard VAT rate, certain transactions may qualify as zero-rated or exempt depending on their nature and the applicable regulations.

Businesses are generally required to register for VAT when their annual taxable turnover exceeds AED 375,000. Voluntary registration may also be available for businesses that meet the relevant eligibility criteria.
